Chapter 100 – Let’s go back!!

“Roa! Check if the potion had an effect! Ahri, support Roa to make sure she doesn’t fall!”

I yell so as not to let the sound of the battlefield drown out my voice.

“Hipopo, disengage at full speed! We’re going back to Habbafulton!”

“Master Rust! The enemy riders will charge at us!”

Warns Ahri while using her future sight, and shortly after, the enemy infantry opens a gap in their ranks.

The riders on bull-type transmuted beasts use this gap to charge at us.

“Kuh.

They’re not going to let us get away that easily.

《Activate》, 《Polish》!”

I throw a scroll back, which activates right before the riders, unleashing a tornado.

Its limiter has been removed, so it’s pretty powerful.

But there is no diamond dust in it.

The raging winds of the tornado have some effect on the large bull-type transmuted beasts.

This breaks their formation and throws off their pace.

Since they’re all crowded together, throwing off their formation does a lot to mess up their speed.

“All right! Seilook! A big one in front of the enemy, but without hitting them!”

I yell up at Seilook.

I don’t know if it’s because we formed a contract, but I feel like Seilook understood me, even from this distance.

I can also feel Seilook opening its mouth widely and tilting its neck down.

A powerful light is emitted from above, like a shooting star.

Seilook’s dragon breath falls from the sky and hits the ground, and a column of light rises right in front of the enemy riders.

Then there’s a big explosion, which blows a lot of wind and raises a lot of dust.

The enemy has been completely robbed of its vision.

The enemy transmuted beasts fall, and their riders are either thrown forward or fall with them.

We use this opportunity to successfully make our escape.

◆◇

“All right.

I think we’ve come far enough away that we should be fine.”

I have Hipopo slow down, since it was running at full speed.

Seilook sees Hipopo slowing down and comes back, sitting again on Hipopo’s head.

“Thank you for earlier, Seilook.

That was a wonderful dragon breath.

And it really helped us escape.

“Kyuru, Kyuru.”

Seilook looks proud, with its chin pointing up.

I scratch its chin a little.

“Roa, I’m letting go.”

We were running at full speed and shaking, so Ahri was supporting Roa so she wouldn’t fall off, since she was sitting in an unstable position.

I thank both again.

“So Roa, did you see any effect”

“I did.

The parasitic mushroom melted and fell.”

“Melted! Hm… Great! That could work then.

Thank you Roa!”

I’m patting Seilook as I say this, so I almost reflexively move over and start patting Roa, but I manage to stop my hand and then raise it instead.

That was close.

I almost pat Roa’s head.

I’m sure she’d think I was treating her like a kid and get angry.

She looks at me like she’s confused, but then she looks at my hand in the air and smacks my palm with her own.

That’s a relief.
