Fake 62: Rescue

“I want to go to help, but it might be difficult with my remaining skills.”

“I still have some leeway with my skills.

So, I’d like to go if only Rin-kun is okay with it.”

“Hmm… … But, I might hardly be helpful, so I will run away if it gets dangerous.

Even if it means leaving other survivors, I will drag Aoi and run away.

I want you to promise me that much.”

“As I thought, Rin-kun is kind.

Alright.

I promise.”

“T-That’s not true.

I am just, just, being childish.”

“Yup, yup, I understand.”

After exchanging a promise with Aoi, we hurriedly headed to the scene.

But, the place seemed to be really close, so we heard the voices immediately after moving for a bit.

“Heeelp~! Keep holding on~”

“Why is there no rescue yet If this continues, we are done for!”

Two guys were shouting.

From the feeling of their voices, it seemed that they were desperately running away from the monsters.

“Aoi! Over there!”

We hurriedly headed in the direction of the voices.

That guy is……

I was familiar with one of the survivors shouting and running away in front of my eyes.

That guy is Honda from my class……

From what I have heard in the class before, he should be G-rank.

And yet, he is currently being chased by F-rank orcs and hobgoblins.

Moreover, four of them.

What is happening

Although I’ve some questions regarding the situation unfolding before my eyes, now is not the time for that.

“Honda~! Here, come here!”

“You, you are… … Aren’t you Bocchi, the incompetent~” (T/N: Bocchi = Loner)

“Just come over here.

You don’t want to die, right”

Honda looked dissatisfied for a moment, but he came running at full speed as soon as he saw that Aoi was next to me.

Another person also came toward us by following Honda.

“Wakaba-san! You came to save me, I am saved~”

“Wakaba-san, thank you.

We owe you a favor.”

Is another person also a student from the school

At any rate, I was completely ignored even though I was in front of them.

Not that I mind it, though.

“Aoi, it seems I can only defeat one of them.

Can you deal with the rest with just my support”

“Alright, no problem.

Leave it to me.”

Having noticed Aoi and me, the chasing four monsters slowed down and got cautious.

“Then, I will deal with the hobgoblin at the very back.”

Having said that to Aoi, I headed toward the hobgoblin.

Since my remaining skills-usable times were limited, I closed the distance to the monster closer than usual to ensure that my skills hit.

“[Wind Cutter]”

The wind blade cut the hobgoblin’s leg, but the wound was shallow with just a single shot.

Successively, I fired my last [Wind Cutter] and completely took away the movement of the hobgoblin.

Aiming at the immobile hobgoblin, I fired [Ice Javelin] and pierced its head.

I was able to defeat it almost as well as I’d imagined, but there were still two monsters left.

One monster had already been dealt with by Aoi’s [Explosion], but I only had one skill left to face the remaining two monsters.

“Aoi, I will stall the orc on the right side.

In the meanwhile, please deal with the one on the left.”

It is unlikely that Aoi will lose to an F-rank in a one-on-one situation.

So, I will keep one of the two remaining monsters at bay by drawing its attention.

I held the survival knife in my hand and provoked the orc.

“Hey, look here.

I am your opponent.

Come!”

The orc seemed to have recognized me as its opponent and came toward me menacingly.

I took the distance while retreating little by little.
