Fake 6: The Meaning Of Level 2
“Aaaahhhhh~!”
I pulled out the blade, aimed at the goblin's chest, and frantically stabbed it repeatedly.
When I repeated that same action a few times, the goblin disappeared after leaving a magic stone on the ground.
“Hahaha.
I did it……I did it!”
Finally, I succeeded in defeating a goblin alone.
To be precise, this is the second time since I defeated a hobgoblin yesterday.
However, there were other members yesterday, and it was only by luck that I miraculously defeated the hobgoblin.
But today was different.
I was able to defeat it with the attacks, all of which were envisioned by me.
Today, I finally accomplished my first solo debut in over a year in the truest sense at this moment.
“Huu~uu.
I am tired”
Because of the adrenaline rush, I didn’t notice until I got home, but it seemed my nerves were frayed to the point of abnormality.
Thus, the moment I sat down in my room, I couldn’t move in the least for a while.
It’s been a week since I defeated a goblin by myself for the first time, and I’ve already succeeded in defeating four goblins.
Unfortunately, my level is still at Lv2, but I have become quite used to battling alone.
So, things like being unable to move after fighting a goblin don’t happen anymore.
And there is one more thing that has changed dramatically.
The incomes from the magic stones, which I got after defeating monsters solo, have dramatically increased.
Until now, I’d considered that 2,000 yen per goblin is quite good, but now I am earning 10,000 yen per goblin since I was defeating them alone.
Although a hobgoblin’s magic stone is worth about 30,000 yen, after considering more or less about other members, I haven’t touched it yet.
Even without that, I’ve already earned 40,000 yen, and if I just kill one more, I would be able to break my monthly earnings record.
Besides, I should be able to level up quickly since I am defeating monsters alone.
I am also interested in what would happen if my level goes up in the future, so I want to level up soon.
“Beep Beep”
I heard a notification sound from the survivor terminal; so, I checked the location first, finished making preparations, and immediately headed out by riding my bicycle.
Today's location was a little farther from usual; it took me about 30 minutes by bicycle.
If low-rank monsters appear, evacuation advisory will be issued to the people around there, and monsters around goblin's level usually cannot cause much damage.
(T/N: Raw said basic monsters, but I don't know what it means so I changed it into low-rank monsters.)
[Sob, sob~! Somebody…….
sa-save me~!]
However, that doesn’t apply to the elderly and sick people who can't move right away.
Just ahead of me, a goblin is attacking a grandpa who is clinging to a cane.
He seems to be still alive by resisting somehow, but I cannot delay even for a moment.
Even though I have a strong sense of justice, it doesn’t mean I have a volunteer spirit.
But the purpose of a survivor is to exterminate monsters and prevent the damages caused by them; therefore, I have a sense of duty to some extent.
Before, I could do nothing but watch, but now I had the power to fight, so I jumped out without hesitation.
“Look here Goblin.
Move from there! [Fireball]”
I deliberately provoked with a loud voice and attacked the goblin to draw its attention.
A tiny fireball hit the goblin at the side and wounded it; the enraged goblin completely changed its target from the grandpa to me.
I released another [Fireball] at the place where the goblin was heading in a fit of rage and halted it.
Using my current winning pattern—flinch the goblin with [Fireball] then instantly approach and stab it repeatedly with [Wave Blade]—I safely dispatched the goblin this time too.
“Huu~uu, Grandpa, are you alright”
I quickly went toward the grandpa who was being attacked earlier and confirmed his safety.
“Ah, aah, I am saved.
Thank you.
Thank you for saving someone like me who hasn’t left much time to live.
I won’t be able to rest in peace if I get done in by the monster and die like that.
You know, my life was shortened and I was already one foot in heaven.”
“Yes…….
I am also glad that I arrived in time”
This might be a joke on the old man's part, but I had trouble responding to him because of his topic, which in itself was pretty sensitive.
