Fake 49: Christmas Present From Angel

“I haven’t heard about Aoi’s parents before.

Where do they live”

“My parents They are currently in Monaco.”

“Eh Monaco”

“Yes, they are now staying at a house in Monaco because of their work.”

A house in Monaco

If I’m not mistaken, Monaco is a country where rich people are gathered, right

“Do you mean that Monaco”

“Yes, my maternal grandfather is from Monaco.”

“Eh So, that makes Aoi……”

“Yes.

I was born and raised in Japan, so I can’t speak French.

But, I’m a quarter, so to speak.”

“I see.”

Certainly, if she is a quarter, it explains her hair color and white skin.

“My ability manifested in me during my first year of junior high school.

And, it was decided that I would be enrolled in our current school at an early stage.

So, I decided to stay behind here alone.”

“Aren’t your parents worried”

“Well, they seemed quite worried at first.

But recently, when I told them about Rin-kun, they seemed relieved.”

“Eh You told them about me”

“Yes, of course.

Since we are partners, I’ve been telling them everything about us since our encounter.”

“Is that so……”

Wouldn’t her parents get angry after knowing that their daughter formed a party with someone like me and went as far as to cook for me every day

Or, could it be that Monaco people are tolerant of this kind of thing, unlike me

I’ve never thought—not even in my dreams—that Aoi’s parents would be living in Monaco.

But still, I am glad that I got to know a little more about Aoi.

“Well then, let’s eat the food while it’s still hot.”

“Yeah, umm~ How do I eat this I don’t even know where to start.”

“It’s okay, I will cut it for you.”

Because I’d never actually seen nor eaten something like a wholly roasted chicken, it was impossible for me to know how to eat one.

I watched Aoi cut it with a knife.

I don’t know if she was used to it or not, but she looked like an expert.

“Then, itadakimasu!”

For the first time in my life, I ate a wholly roasted chicken.

“Delicious……!”

The juicy texture of chicken meat combined with deep flavors of—I think—herbs or something resulted in a taste I’d never tasted before.

But, it was delicious.

So, this is the taste of Christmas……

It was full of special feelings that you usually wouldn’t have.

So, this is Christmas.

A Christmas in which I could eat Aoi’s special dinner was very special to me.

And in my 16 years of life, I had never experienced anything like this before.

Thanking Aoi was the only thing I could do.

“Thank you for always, Aoi.”

“W-what happened so suddenly”

“No, because having this kind of Christmas is the first for me.

It’s all thanks to Aoi.

Thank you.”

“Likewise, thank you too.”

Having finished our meals, we ate the cake we bought.

Aoi then said she wanted to take a picture, so we took a picture of the two of us eating the cake side by side with Aoi’s smartphone.

After we finished eating, Aoi temporarily returned to her room.

When she returned soon after, she handed me a bag she brought back.

“Is this……”

“Yes.

My Christmas present for you.”

“Can I look at it……now”

“Yes.

It’s a little embarrassing though……”

When I looked inside the bag, there was a gray muffler inside.

“A muffler………”

“Yes, it looks a little ugly because this is my first time knitting it, but I would be happy if you wear it.”

“Perhaps, did Aoi knit this”

“Yes, I’ve tried my best.”

The present from Aoi was unexpectedly a muffler knitted by herself.

We’ve been studying for the exam and doing survivor activities together, so she shouldn’t have had any time for that.

Has she been knitting it after returning to her room

This, Aoi’s hand-knitted muffler, was the first Christmas present I’ve ever received since Santa-san stopped giving me one……
